This is the place where film comes alive. Where you can let go and be taken by the images before you. Since childhood I was fascinated by the magic of the silver screen. The pretty pictures and soulful music. The way it made my heart beat faster than a squirrel on crack.

Mission Statement

Here we  strive to understand the nuances of the cinematic image, to dig deep and understand what creates the magic onscreen. This is a place where film is appreciated in all its many forms, from obscure art films to the more popular commercial ones. The aim here is to understand the interrelation between the personal, social, cultural and political dimensions of film and how these spheres come together to make a film what it is at a particular moment. Most importantly the aim is to look at films from various nations, traditions and genres, including so-called cheesy, B-grade films, and see how they function in a broader context. Thus this site is focussed on building an appreciation for films of various styles and quality.
